SOUND OF READING. BRAILLE erscheint als Vinyl, 45 rpm zur gleichnamigen Installation. Der Akt des Lesens entfaltet einen ganz eigenen akustischen Reiz durch das Geräusch des sich öffnenden Buches, das Antippen mit den Fingern, das Umblättern der Seiten und die Rückkehr zum Anfang jeder Zeile.

Die Publikation A TOUCH OF TYPE von Isabel Naegele und Stephanie Kaplan (Hrsg.) ist eine persönliche Collage und dokumentiert die Recherche zum Brailleschrift-System und weiteren Formen taktiler Schriften. Entstanden ist eine reich illustrierte Reise durch Bücher, das Internet, alle Arten von Archiven und die Begegnung mit vielen Experten. Für Typografie-Fans sind die ausgefallenen Fonts umfangreich als Schriftmuster aufbereitet.

SOUND OF READING. BRAILLE is released as a recording accompanying the installation of the same name. The act of reading develops a distinctive acoustic appeal through the sound of the book being opened, the tapping of the fingers, the turning of pages, and the return to the beginning of each line.

The publication A TOUCH OF TYPE, von Isabel Naegele and Stephanie Kaplan (Eds.) is a personal collage that documents research into the Braille system and other forms of tactile writing. The result is a richly illustrated journey through books, the Internet, all kinds of archives, and encounters with many experts. As a special treat for all type nerds: the unusual fonts are presented in an extensive collection of type samples.

Ein Kooperationsprojekt zwischen dem DIALOGMUSEUM FRANKFURT und dem Institut Designlabor Gutenberg der Hochschule Mainz im Rahmen der World Design Capital Frankfurt RheinMain (WDC) 2026 zum Thema „Design for Democracy. Atmospheres for a better Life“. WDC 2026 wird gefördert durch das Land Hessen, die Stadt Frankfurt am Main und den Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain.
